I need to try to keep this short and sweet because Assaf's [reading and writing] English ain't too good and I want to make sure he can read this. (His speaking and understand of the language was nearly perfect) It's going to be difficult because I have so many wonderful words to say about him.
With charisma, honesty, humor, and generosity, Assaf guided us through all of Israel for 10 days. His passion for his work and kindness created an environment that was beyond all of our expectations. I had an inspiring conversation with him about how he was working at a cell phone store and then decided to take the tour guide course and has absolutely loved his work guiding people around Israel for the past 15 years. He told me that it was so important to him to wake up and love what he's doing every day.
There were many times that Assaf would share stories with us, incredibly personal stories about his experience in the country, his family, his friends. Assaf was candid - in the best possible way. I don't need to reveal all of his secrets, but Assaf is an inspiring human and it was a privilege to follow his leadership. I look forward to keeping in touch with Assaf and hopefully getting to see him when he FINALLY makes his way to The States in the next couple years!
